Northern Light Resort has a large Bear Management Area (BMA).
We offer both spring and fall bear hunts.
Our basic bear package is $1600 (US funds) per hunter. This includes 5 days accommodations in a comfortable cottage, pre-baited stations with stands. Outdoors card, bear licence and export permit are extra. All of these items can be purchased at the resort. Non-residents must be 16 years of age. We can provide meals during your stay for an additional fee or you can cook in your cabin.
All of our Bear Hunting is done over baited stands within 15 km (9.3 miles) of the resort. We guarantee active baits and always have more working stands than the number of hunters that are in camp. As a result of this our success rate is high.
We encourage both rifle and bow hunters, and have stand areas suited to each method of hunting. We will take you to your stand areas and then the hunters keep their stands baited for the week with bait supplied by us. We have ample freezer space for both hides and meat.
We rent boats and motors for your convenience. Hunters that get their bear early or those wishing to drop a line when not on a stand, often take advantage of our excellent fishing.
Over the years many trophy Black Bear have been harvested. Cinnamon bears are commonly seen in our area, they are still black bears, just a different colour phase.
A non-resident firearms declaration form is needed for all firearms and crossbows. Pistols are not allowed. A form is not needed for longbows, recurves and compounds. Get your forms by clicking on this link.
