Northern Light Resort was established in 1973, it's family owned and has recently been purchased by
Lisa Ostle (Hillert) and Kevin
Syrydiuk. Northern Light Resort is located on the beautiful Northern Light Lake, 93 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, at the end of HWY 588. We are approximately 7 hours from Minneapolis and 4 hours from Duluth and from Grande Portage Border Crossing on HWY 61, it is approximately 70 miles back along the border to Northern Light Lake.

The sensational wilderness is a must to experience. Hunting, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling/quading are adventures not to be missed, with endless miles of bush/woods and trails to travel.
At Northern Light Resort moose, deer and bear hunting are an awesome experience. While on your moose hunt you will be sure to see other wildlife; bears, grouse, partridge, deer, etc. Our pristine area, lakes and wildlife are a must to see.
At Northern Light Resort we offer cabin rentals, year round seasonal campsites, and boat and motor rentals. For your convenience we have a restaurant, gift shop, bait shop, gas, licenses, camping permits and a LCBO agency. Guide services, transportation and parking are available when required.

Four Season Fun at Northern Light Lake Cabins
There are many small lakes to fish but if you don't feel like fishing you can enjoy our beautiful sand beach or enjoy hiking, walking and exploring the area. If you want to be adventurous you can go quading and enjoy our pristine trails. Blueberry picking around the Northern Lights area is relaxing and enjoyable as well. Jet skiing, water skiing and swimming are a great way to rejuvenate and relieve stress.
Fishing in the fall at Northern Light Lake is quiet, not too hot and very soothing. Being on the lake in the fall is a wonderful time to see beautiful autumn foliage. Hunting bear and moose in the Northern Light Lake area is an excellent adventure. Moose can weigh in at around 1000 lbs. Bear as well can weigh between 300 to 500 lbs. Quading is also very popular at this time of year. There are many trails to ride as well as many things to see and it is always an adventure.
Winter Activities Snowmobiling on local trails and regionally groomed trails going through the resort in the winter is a wonderful way to sight-see and relax while riding. You are sure to see a variety of wildlife including moose, wolves, otters, martins and more. A common activity with snowmobiles is the 500 mile circle route on groomed trails (check route on OFSC website.)There is a vast area to cover and can be very eventful. Enjoy the beauty of winter while snowmobiling, or ice fishing.
